Moving questions,answered.

Clear, honest answers about pricing, California moving rules, Double Drive Time, scheduling, packing and insurance.

Our hourly rate is $125–$195 for a crew of 2–4 movers with our truck. Your total depends on the size of your move, the number of movers, the time involved, the distance, access at both ends and any packing. Request an estimate based on your actual inventory and moving details rather than relying on a generic price.

Yes. Local moves have a 3-hour minimum. After that, time is billed in 15-minute increments for the actual time worked.

Instead of charging separately for the trip from our base to your home and back, California rules let movers bill the driving time between your pickup and delivery addresses at twice the actual time. This is called Double Drive Time. It applies to hourly moves, along with a gas fee, and your estimate shows how it applies to your route.

We accept major credit cards (Visa, American Express and Mastercard), Zelle, Venmo, cash and money orders. Payment is due once the move is done. Credit card payments carry a 4.9% processing fee, and the name on the card must match your ID. A deposit may be required for moves at the end of the month or on weekends.

Yes. Kobe Moving offers local and long-distance moving. Share your origin, destination, inventory and preferred moving date so we can confirm the right service and availability.

Booking early is recommended, especially near the end or beginning of the month, on weekends and during busy moving periods. Two to four weeks ahead is ideal. Contact us to check availability for your preferred date.

Often, yes. We’re open 7 days a week, 8 AM to 7 PM. Call 323-888-0570 and we’ll fit you in whenever a crew is free.

Yes. Our labor-only service is available for suitable jobs. You provide the truck, container or moving pod, and our crew helps with loading, unloading and rearranging furniture. Moving blankets, tape and boxes aren’t included, but we can supply them at extra cost, charged as used. Confirm the equipment and crew you need when you request a quote.

Yes, these are common moving situations. Let us know the floor number, elevator availability, the distance to the truck and any narrow hallways or difficult access points so the job can be planned properly.

Yes — pianos, artwork, antiques and pool tables, with the proper equipment and trained technique. Tell us about these items when you request a quote.

Yes. Our movers are experienced professionals but not certified technicians, so we can’t take responsibility for disconnecting appliances with water or gas connections. You’ll need to be present when appliances are disconnected, and major appliances must be emptied before the move.

Yes, with some limits. We can’t secure or tie plants down. We place a moving pad under each pot and load the plants in the back of the truck. Fragile pots must be packed in boxes to travel safely. We can’t take responsibility for damage to pots or plants, and some plants can’t be moved, depending on their size and the distance between locations.

We recommend removing all contents from dressers and other furniture before the move, for safety.

Usually not. A parking permit often costs more than a parking citation, so we recommend one only if the truck would block traffic, an entire road or a bus lane. If we receive a citation for double parking during your move, it’s added to your final bill. Permits are available through movingpermits.com.

Yes. Disposal is charged by volume, at $125 per 100 cubic feet.

The hourly rate includes the truck, trained movers, moving pads, tape and wardrobe boxes, tools for basic furniture disassembly and basic valuation coverage. Packing materials for fragile or specialty items are charged as used. Labor-only jobs are different: blankets, tape and boxes are not included and are charged as used.

Yes. Choose full-home packing, or help with selected rooms, dishes and fragile items. Full packing is $65/hr on top of your moving rate, with all materials included. For partial packing, materials are charged as used. Confirm whether unpacking is included in your service agreement. See packing services.

Basic disassembly and reassembly can be included for eligible furniture, depending on the agreed scope. Special installations, complex furniture and items that need specialized tools should be discussed in advance.

Yes. We can take away used packing supplies for a $75 disposal fee.
